I was on the phone late last week talking about a person that needed help with food and rent.  This person works at a job that requires piece work and only works when they call him in.  He is a man of God and knows the scriptures as if he were an seminary professor.  He is not.  He is just a man that loves God.   He trusts God.  He is in need of food.

One of the women at my work, also a Christian, somehow overheard me talking about this man in need.  As I came to work today, she brought in 4 bags of groceries for this man.  The Lord had laid this on her heart to help this man.  Now she has a family who also has needs.  She is by no means wealthy in terms of money, but she is in terms of Christ.   God loves this type of action and will bless her over and over.

1 John 3: 16-17 says that if anyone HAS material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?  It is a rhetorical question.  The love of God can not be in you if you see your brother in need and you have what they need.  Jesus himself said that when you do this to the least of one of these, you do it to him.

T he responsibility is awesome to see those in need…….it is faith in action when you buy groceries or pay rent.  Jesus says he sees this and there is a reward for action.  Have you looked around lately?
