Swervechurch was fantastic this past Saturday.  We got into how to give God  your best.  We had a great turnout and had just a good time.  Next Swervechurch is on November the 8th at 6pm at The Living Cornerstone, 1835 Taylor Road.

If you could not make it Saturday, we sort of got into what we need to do to be able to give God our best.  The bible is so cool.  Yes it is really old but it is so relevant to today.  Take a look at what the bible says about how to both live and prosper.  This is the New Living Translation and it is so telling about God.  Deuteronomy 30:19 says this, “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses.  Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.  Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your decendants might live.”

I just think it is so awesome that God is saying, Oh that you would choose life…….He, God, The Almighty Creator wants us to choose life.  He wants us to choose blessings.  It almost seems like that this is OUR choice….well, doesn’t it.  That is because it is!  Blessings and life versus curses and death. Who would choose death and curses?  Do we, when we turn our backs on God?  Do we, when we don’t even make time for God in our daily lives?  Do we choose curses when we go directly against what God may be saying to us either through the bible, through others or through the Holy Spirit?

God wants us to have life and have it abundantly.  Jesus speaks in the book of John where he says that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but that He came so that we would have life and have it abundantly.  (John 10:10).  The word abundantly here has the actual and literal translation of extreme blessings, superabundantant, superior, beyond measure, vehement.  This is unbelievable.  Jesus came so we could have all this?  Yes, He did.   Blessings and curses.  Life and death.    It is our choice.  You see, apart from God, we may have temporary earthly blessings; new cars, nice houses, portfolios that are impressive.  However, once those pass away, what do we have?  Nothing.

It is a clear choice.  Blessings and curses.  Life and death.  It is our choice.  Listen again to God in Deueronomy……”Oh that you would choose life…”  Choose life today.  Choose Jesus.  Let me know if I can help.
